colorado plains medical center Receives
Prestigious company Award for excellence

LifePoint Hospitals® has awarded Colorado Plains Medical Center with the company’s 2010 High Five Award for demonstrating excellence in health care delivery.  Colorado Plains is part of LifePoint Hospitals, a leading hospital company dedicated to providing quality healthcare in non-urban communities.

The High Five Award is the highest honor awarded annually to one hospital in the LifePoint system to recognize extraordinary achievement in demonstrating the company’s High Five guiding principles:

Delivering compassionate, high quality patient care
Supporting physicians
Creating excellent workplaces for employees
Strengthening the hospital’s role in the community
Ensuring fiscal responsibility
The award was accepted by Colorado Plains Medical Center’s Chief Executive, Mike Patterson, and Chief Nursing Officer, Brad Langdorf, on behalf of the entire hospital staff at the annual LifePoint operations meeting on January 26 in Nashville, Tenn.

The hospital received a check from LifePoint Hospitals in the amount of $250,000 to be used to invest in hospital improvements and technology as the hospital continues to grow and enhance its medical services.

“We strive to improve the services we provide to our community and are grateful for the additional support that LifePoint is giving the hospital to make our community healthier.  This gesture shows that LifePoint has chosen to be more than just a management company, but a partner with Colorado Plains Medical Center,” notes Howard Wickham, President of the Fort Morgan Community Hospital Association.

“Congratulations and recognition goes to every single member of our staff for playing an integral part in our notable progress during 2010.  I am proud of our hospital family and honored to be a member of it,” said Patterson. “This recognition is simply a tangible testament of the dedicated effort our employees, physicians, volunteers and board members gave during this past year. Our vision for 2011 is one of even greater optimism as we continue to pursue excellence in all areas of our hospital.”
