FORT MORGAN. January 7, 2010 – The Governing Board of Trustees at Colorado Plains Medical Center (CPMC) is pleased to announce that Kevin Rogols, FACHE, will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer for the hospital on Tuesday, January 19.
“Kevin has a very strong background in hospital operations and will be a tremendous asset to Colorado Plains Medical Center. He has demonstrated an ability to grow hospitals through sound strategic planning and quality improvement while enhancing relationships with all customers and constituents,” said Mike Chabot, Chairman of the CPMC Governing Board of Trustees. “Kevin and his wife Kathy are both from rural communities and are looking forward to moving to Fort Morgan.”
An experienced healthcare leader, Rogols, 49, is skilled in all areas of executive management, including operations and project management, business development, strategic planning, and board and medical staff relations. Kevin has a very high commitment to quality, is community-minded, and has a track record of working well with physicians and employees.”
He comes to CPMC from Smithfield, North Carolina where since 2006 he has been President and CEO of Johnston Health, a 199-bed two-campus health care system. While there, he oversaw the construction of a number of new facilities, including a $62 million replacement inpatient tower at the Smithfield campus and a $42 million freestanding center in Clayton.
Prior to that, Rogols was CEO of Knox Community Hospital, a 115-bed hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he led a turnaround of the organization. He also served as President and CEO of Finley Tri-States Health Group in Dubuque, Iowa, when the hospital was twice named among the nation’s “Top 100 Hospitals” by HCIA / Mercer Consulting.
“I am excited about the possibilities that await me at Colorado Plains,” said Rogols. “My primary focus will be to provide the leadership, support and resources necessary to build upon the strong foundation that’s already there. I look forward to working with the outstanding hospital employees, medical staff and members of the community. CPMC is an outstanding resource that has the potential to become the leader in healthcare excellence in the region.”
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Rogols earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on medical anthropology specializing in geriatrics and research methods. He then earned a master’s degree in health services administration from Ohio State University. He has achieved fellowship status in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
